Off-topic

I was just attempting to use my Nexus 7 to scan a paper hoping that I could use some OCR on it. Well it worked, but it was not exactly clear how to do so. Therefore, I thought I would try to help anyone that might be looking for the same thing later by documenting what I learned.

  1. On Android device, open Drive app
  2. Click "+" and select "Scan"
  3. Confirm scan and it will upload
  4. On a computer, open drive.google.com and find the uploaded scan. (mine was named "scanned_20130812-1358.pdf")
  5. Clicking on the pdf will open it in preview mode, in the bottom-right will be an "Open" button which will open it in the Google Drive Viewer.
  6. Go to File->Open with, and select "Google Docs"
  7. You will now see the pdf at the top of the doc and the OCR content below.
